White Rose Battlefield

At the far end of this veritable paradise is a large expanse of land bereft of flowering vegetation. The White Rose Battlefield remains a tribute to those who fought for the beauty of the land and won, making it possible to make the Gardens a home for all. Receiving its name for the garden of white roses that used to root in the once fertile soil, every dawn a bouquet will be found on the edge... a reminder of the beauty lost to preserve that of the rest of the island... also, to remind those that use this sacred place to settle disputes or spar here, that the beauty came at a price and the surrounding areas are protected... © Hallie
